Introduction!

Shoe Faves: November

Hey guys so I really wanted to post something because it has been a minute, and since its officially December, I decided to show you my favorite shoes that I have been wearing or staring at all month!

Nike Diamond Turfs (varsity)(Red shoes)- Hibbet Sports- I love these shoes, didn't really wear them much for the whole semester , but I definitely brought them out in November
Spiked oxfords- Random store in California - As you can see, I definitely wore these out
Black spiked loafers- Dots- These go with everything! My friend calls them my Trinidad James shoes
Nike Air Speed Turf (GS)- Footlocker- My babies! I would wear these everyday if I could, and if didn't get them in a size too small. These are limited to short school days
Open toe Ankle Strap Heels- Forever 21- I haven't actually worn these but I have been staring at them for the whole month. Does that count?
Ps. that's a penny behind the speed turfs.

Fall Faves!

Hey guys, so todays post is all about my favorites for fall! Basically everything I have been wearing non stop or just gushing over!

Sorry the picture is a little blury*
  • My Floral Vintage Cross body Bag- This whole year I have really been loving vintage floral prints, and this is no exception. This bag literally matches with everything, and even if it doesn't it still does to me lol. I wear this all the time. Purchased from random garage sale
  • High-waisted shorts- This is my first store bought pair of high-waisted jean shorts , and I really really like them. The fit is really good and I love the color, plus I can easily style these with anything and everything. Purchased from L'patricia
  • Sexiest Fantasies: Love Struck- This stuff smells amazing and is a dupe to Victoria's Secrets love spell. I get a lot of compliments on this body spray whenever I wear it! This is a nice fruity smell and I would really recommend it. Plus you can buy it in a set for about $8. Purchased from Wal-Mart
  • Black Slouchy Cardigan- My best friend had to ask me how many times am I going to wear this cardi! I wear this about twice a week and like all my other favorites it goes with everything!! This cardigan is very good quality, it has not snagged and, I have washed it multiple times and it has not faded at all! Purchased from Forever 21
  • Hot pink bow sweater- I love this sweater! I bought it last year and wear it a lot. I like the fact that it has small holes in it so that its not too warm. It's light enough for the fall and you can  layer it for winter. Purchased from Hollister
  • Hoops- I am a hoops girl through and through. I feel like hoops make everyone look better. They are a nice change from studs and give you a sassier look. At one time I wore hoops for 2 weeks straight! Purchased from Wal-Mart
  • Equate Facial Moisturizer- I have been in the market for a new moisturizer, because my clean and clear just stopped working on me. At first I was going to buy the Neutrogena version of this, but I read the ingredients on the back on both of them side to side and they were almost identical. This has been doing my skin some good, and it is definitely being moisturized! Purchased from Wal-Mart
  • Conair Blow Dryer- My only hair product, but I have really enjoyed this heating tool! I used it before I straightened my hair and my best friends hair and it worked great. it wasn't really expensive and it also came with a diffuser and a concentrator attachment. Purchased from Wal-mart

Deep Conditioning & $$$

Hey guys so this week has been crazy for me! I was extremely busy working long hours and getting little sleep! I'm trying to save up for my rent that's due in January because I will not be working during that month, plus I have other things I need to do with my money! But todays post is going to be about my deep conditioning!! Ever since I got to school I noticed I have not been caring for my hair as much as I would like. So after watching some YouTube videos on deep conditioning and looking in my pocket books I decided to purchase two products to start better taking care of my hair!

Suave Coconut Conditioner: I purchased this product (even though its on the , more watery side and usually for deep conditioners you want something with a thicker consistency), because I have had experience using this product before in the past as a leave in conditioner and it left my hair feeling moisturized and soft. The price wasn't bad and it smells really good!

Extra Virgin Olive Oil(Great Value): I originally went into Wal-Mart looking for some extra virgin coconut oil , but all I saw was pure, refined coconut oil. I decided to go ahead and get this because I just needed an oil to seal in the moisture and I also like to add oil before I apply my conditioner. This I have to say definitely got the job done! I really like the way it made my hair feel in conjunction with the conditioner! The smell is okay, once I put on my conditioner, though I could barely smell the olive oil!

My Deep Conditioning Routine!
  1. Started off with freshly co-washed hair ( I used Suave Almond and Shea Butter Conditioner)
  2. Wrapped my hair in a towel and squeezed out excess water
  3. Parted my hair in four sections and added a generous amount of Extra Virgin Olive Oil on each section from root to tip
  4. After I applied the olive oil, I added in my Suave Coconut conditioner being careful NOT to apply it to my roots, and really concentrating on my ends
  5. Then I reapplied my oil mostly concentrating on my ends and detangled and plaited my hair
  6. Lastly I put on a shower cap and went to bed. The next morning I rinsed it all out and my hair was so soft and it felt very moisturized!
**I will be doing this routine every Friday from now on. I definitely like the results!!**

Conditoner $2, Oil $2, The way my hair felt after Deep conditioning, PRICELESS!

NEVER give up

I wish I would've learned this my freshmen year of college, because I know I would be playing college ball. However now into my third year of college, I actually understand the phrase and am working on it everyday. I have so many dreams and goals, that I know if I keep pushing I will make them happen! I just wanted to come on here and encourage you guys to keep pushing and working hard to follow your dreams and never give up. If you put in the work, then I believe no dream is impossible. And remember it's not too late!

In a Rush?

In a rush and its cold?

This outfit is very simple and easy to out together. Recognize the sweater? (Hint "sweater weather)
Since the sweater had some pretty neutral colors in it and the scarf did also , I decided to add some maroon skinny jeans to brighten up the look. The shoes I paired with these are some TO DIE FOR boots with cutouts. Both the jeans and the boots add a little bit more flare to the outfit! (Note the scarf doesn't really match the outfit but I really like that!)

DIY: Shredded jeans

So Today I did a super easy DIY with some slightly  high waisted Levi's from the thrift store.  When I tried them on in the dressing room they looked alright but when I came home I was like I have to do something with these, they were just baggy and not as high up as I would've liked. So here's a little "tutorial" of what I did. (Side note I know this is really simple, I was going to do this to my pants anyway so, I just decided to show you guys :) I will be doing more creative DIYs in the future)

1. Grab some scissors and jeans
2. Try jeans on and cut at an appropriate length for you
3. Take jeans off and cut horizontal lines across the length of your jeans. I cut about them about a half an inch apart from each other. (Stop about an inch from them bottom of your jeans
4. Throw them in the washer and dryer! (It will do everything for you)
5. And wallaaaa you have yourself some shredded jeans :)

Sweater Weather

Hello everyone, so here in Texas, I think it's safe to say its officially "sweater weather." It has become really chilly and it's time for me to bring out my 4 sweaters that I have in my closet.
I decided to show you guys some cool sweaters that I found, remember your sweaters don't always have to be boring and/or neutral colors. Have fun and show your personality!

Goodwill Haulellujuah

Hey guys! So today I went to the thrift store and bought a few items!! I took a picture of what I bought (shown below) and later on I will be doing a styling post! The items all together cost about $25.

High waisted "Lee" Jeans- The whole point of me going to the thrift store was for me to look for some high waisted jeans, and I found them. AND they fit to a T!

Green Oversized Sweater- To be honest I just picked this up because of the gorgeous color!

Large Men's Jersey- I have been looking for a men's  jersey that will cover my bum and this fit really good. I actually bought this last week and wore it on Monday. I took a selfie on my instagram if you want to see how it looks. My instagram is  @thommaaasss

Tommy Hilfiger Pullover- This besides my pants was the steal of the day! This pullover only cost me $4 werrrrrkkkkkk! I tried it on in the store and I loved the fact that it covers my behind. I will definitely be wearing this on those extra cold days, probably with some leggings and boots. I also really like that the collar is grey.

Thats that Ish I don't Like

Hey guys! So today I decided to do a tag that I had seen on YouTube in blog form :). This is just a fun tag that is pretty much my pet peeves. I hope you guys enjoy, and Happy Sunday!

Update: Job, Outfits, Views

Hello! Sometimes it feels like I'm talking to a brick wall, when I get on here and write, but I just love blogging and that's what keeps me going and motivated. On to a brighter note I am currently picking out my Fall outfits for you guys, and I am excited. I have one outfit put together and I actually wore it yesterday, and I need to  pick out either 2 or 3 more.
Update on my job at Chick-Fil-A, I recently asked them to let me off at 8pm instead of 10:30pm and they approved it! Now I have more time to study and do other things, like blogging!

Random: Isn't she the cutest thing!!?

Chilly School Daze

Has anyone noticed the weather as of late? It's getting pretty cold outside.(at least where I live) Which means different outfits, more layers and darker colors? Which also means that I'm planning to show you guys, what I wear to school on chilly days!
By the way, don't worry I didn't forgot about the "Three Item Challenge" I actually want to do it as my first YouTube video, and do a post simultaneously when I make the video, which might take a little bit of time.

                                                                       Quick Tip

Trade in your unflattering jacks for a sleek oversized Cardigan. This Cardigan is a great alternative for jackets in chilly weather. Who doesn't love tribal print and the best part is that its a neutral color which means it can be paired with tons of pieces in your closet! You could easily pair this cardi with some high waisted shorts, knee high socks, and closed toed shoe. As for the top go crazy! Or you can just throw on some jeans a nice shirt and some funky flats.(You can add a scarf to both of these looks also!) Either way you will be stylish and warm!

Space Buns or Nah? (+ Update)

Hello all! Sooo I know, I know I've been seriously slacking but I'm really going to try posting at least 3 times a weeks. That everyday posting thing just isn't going to work, plus I just got a job at Chick-Fil-A !!!! AND I will also try to post at least one outfit I wore throughout the week. AND I'm going to try the YouTube thing again!!

Space Buns or Nah?

I personally like the growing trend of space buns. I think they are playful yet still cute and this is actually how I would probably wear them! What is your opinion of space buns, cute or kiddy?

Flaws and All (Acne & Tenia Versicolor)

Hello everyone, so this post might be a "Debby downer", but I just wanted to give you guys a little peek of some of the things I am self conscious about.

Have you ever heard people talk about their flaws and when you see it, it seems as if its a really minute (small) thing, but to them its a big deal? Well for me one of my biggest flaws is my skin. not just my face, but my whole body. I struggle with acne and tenia versicolor. I have acne on my face mostly on my cheeks and it can be really upsetting sometimes. I have had acne since middle school, and it has never went away, although it has subdued a little. I know this is partially my fault for not having the best diet, but I also will argue that genetics plays some type of role. My acne has really lowered my self esteem to the point where I don't go ANYWHERE without foundation!

Just a brief overview of Tenia versicolor its basically a discoloration of the skin. It is mostly found in places where you tend to sweat the most (your back, underneath your chest), but it can also spread to other areas of your body. Mine is under my boobs all over my back on my bottom, and on my thighs, while still spreading. Now this condition isn't harmful to your skin but it in some cases it can cause your skin to be itchy. For a long time, this made me self-conscious of what I wear, and it still in some ways does. One of the biggest problems that I have though, with this skin condition is that everything that I have tried as far as over the counter products has not worked for me and going to the dermatologist right now is not something I can afford.

Here is an example of Tenia versicolor (this is not me)

So this is just a little insight of what I struggle with, I tried to be very open and honest but also brief.

What are you self conscious about?

Makeup in College?

This morning as I was putting on my everyday face , I was just thinking about a quote I saw on a blog "I don't understand why everyone is so obsessed with seeing people without makeup." (itsmyrayeraye) Now this is very frustrating to me because I don't understand why people care so much! People always talk about people who wear a full face of makeup EVERYDAY, but I don't understand why they care, if she wants to wear a full face of makeup every single day for the rest of her life, WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE HER.

On a lighter note though, what is your everyday makeup routine, if you have one?
Mine is super easy and takes me about 5 minutes! (below is my routine!)

  1. Lightly fill in eyebrows with a dark brown cheapy pencil
  2. Waterproof  Black Winged Liner
  3. Powder foundation (I use Black Radiance in Café Au Lait (Wal-Mart))

Shoe Must Have + 2 Looks

Shoe Must have for School!!

Chuck Taylors are sooo versatile, you can wear them with skirts, dresses, jeans, shorts, pretty much anything, you want, and it will definitely dress down your outfit! These are definitely a must have for me because they literally go with everything in my closet. (I like wearing converse with knee high socks, kind of gives them a school girl look). But If you are buying your first pair I would definitely go with a more neutral color like white or black! Here is how I would style chucks for school!

1st look
White crop top, slight harem pant/trouser and white chucks, this look is very simple and is easy to throw on for class or running errands. I choose the slight harem style sweatpants to get away from your just average sweatpants. (you can add more colorful jewelry to make this outfit a little bit brighter!)
2nd look
Option A: A tight fitting tiger dress or any animal of your choice, and white chucks. The chucks will really dress down this look and the dress is a bit more edgy! I would add a camouflage  jacket also to the look for those of you who are uncomfortable with sleeveless dresses!
Option B: Floral print cut out dress, white chucks. This dress just has girly written all over it and at first glance you would probably want to wear it with heals or strappy sandals. but by pairing it with chucks, this can be easily made into a cute school outfit you can even dress it down further by adding an oversized slouchy cardigan!

DIY: Maxi Cardigan (no sew)

So I was thinking of buying a maxi cardigan online, but then I came up with an idea!!!
Instead of paying $30 for a maxi cardigan, I could just Do it myself!

So here's the idea in 2 easy steps!
  1. Go to the thrift store and try to find a maxi dress with sleeves or find an old maxi dress with sleeves in your closet!
  2. Then when you get home simply cut straight down the middle, and that's it!

I am going to try it later, when I have more funds , but if you want to go ahead and try it send me a picture so, I can see how yours turned out!( jessdoit412@gmail.com is my e-mail)

Nails, Roomspiration, Outfits

I tried to pant my nails, so I could have fresh nails for tomorrow, but of course it was a FAIL. And of course I smashed my fingers into my desk (accidently) and messed up not 1 hand but both hands!! (Don't ask me how, I'm still trying to figure that out).  I give up! But onto more exciting things!! I move in to my apartment tomorrow, well hopefully (they are still trying to find me a room). And even more exciting news, I will try to get my road dog(BFF) to take pictures of what I wore for the first 3 days of school :) and maybe even the weekend. We start on the 28th!

Here are some DIY ideas that I was thinking about doing for my room. What do you think?

The last picture is just what I would like my apartment to look like, but of course I only have one small room to work with, plus the living room, but I have to bounce ideas off of 3 others girls!

Back To School Outfit Idea

So Here is an idea of  what I would wear (if I had these items in my closet)  for the first day of school!

This outfit is quick and easy! I know on the first day of school I would not want to stress over my outfit, I want to be worried about other things, so that's why I choose 3 pieces for this outfit. And Since I always think of hairstyle to go with outfits (Is that weird), I would probably wear my hair bone straight with a middle part. :)

New School

 UPDATE!!!!
I got some exciting news yesterday! I was accepted into my college that I should've gone to Freshmen year. Sooooooo with that being said I will be moving into an apartment, instead of living in a dorm. Unfortunately I already bought my sheets and stuff for my dorm(twin size) and I have no idea where my receipts are!!! But I don't even care I am so excited to start my new journey at this new school!

Confessions of a College Girl

If I had back to school clothes money(and didn't have other more important things I needed to get), this is probably what I would've bought!

  • Jersey dress: Yasssss
  • High Waisted Skinny Jeans: Distressed or  Ripped or Bleached Idc idc idc I just want them. I have been looking for some (reasonable price) for forever! I can't even find plain ones in thrift stores! They will go great with my growing crop top collection!
  • White Platform Converse: I have been wanting these since last year, and I think they will work very well in my closet
  • Name Necklace: Okay seriously I have been asking for one of these since sophomore year in high school. I think this would be a great everyday necklace. (My name is Jessica by the way ;)
  • White spiked loafers: I think white is my favorite color at the moment... (it changes daily) I love loafers in general and I really want some all white flats that can be dressed up or down
  • Zara Heels: I don't have a name for these beautiful creations, but I have really been enjoying seeing them styled. I think they are classy and are a must have for me. I literally don't own any heels but I want these to be my first ones!
  • "You can't sit with us" crop top: Yes a crop top, what's new? But this isn't just any crop top it has a quote from a movie that I along with millions of other girls are obsessed with. That is all
  • Matchy Matchy crop top and shorts set: I really want to make my own from a thrifted dress!
  • Printed Blazer: I just really want a blazer and I didn't want a boring black one. I saw a floral one in Sears(don't schleeep on Sears) the other day and fell in love with the blazer and fell out of love with the price. ($15.99) That's not that expensive I just didn't have it :(

Now I'm going to get on YouTube and go watch all of the depressing back to school hauls and reflect on life...
