These are just some tips on how to stay "Classy in College"
1.Professionalism. To me this is the most important thing, I could go on and on about this subject, but I will try to keep it short and sweet. In college there are going to be many events that require you to dress BUISNESS PROFESSIONAL. Business professional means neutral colors, work heels/flats, and a suit, whether it be a skirt suit or pants set. If you show up to an event and you are in stripper heels, low cut V-necks, and short skirts, you will not only be judged, but you will most likely be turned away from the event. Please be mindful that just because you have on black heels and they don't have any type of pattern or studs, or glitter, but they are 6 inches, you should not be wearing them to a professional event.
*Try to look for a shoe with a low heel and a neutral color (black or nude) for any type of professional event.
* If you are going to wear a skirt make sure that it is no shorter than 3 inches above the knee, and that it does not have a big slit in the back! Try to get a skirt that is at least to the knee, and that is not super tight
* Blazers are a good way to go if you are unsure if you are wearing the right top, but don't go crazy with the colors. A nice navy, grey or black coat with a subtle pinstripe or just plain would be fine.
* If you don't have a suit, get separates, you can find them anywhere! A nice white button down tucked in to IRONED slacks would be a good way to go. Also I really recommend getting a blazer to go over, and if you are a little money funny like everyone is in college, try the thrift store, they ALWAYS have blazers!
2. Express yourself, but don't get crazy College is all about finding yourself and experimenting and meeting new people, blah blah blah. However that doesn't mean go crazy and do stuff you know your parents would be frowning at you for doing. Go to parties, hang out with friends, have boyfriends and girlfriends, do you boo. BUT don't get sloppy drunk (I really don't recommend that EVER), don't air your dirty laundry for everybody to hear, and be careful who you trust.
3. Classy vs. Trashy Last but certainly not least , even though for the most part there isn't a dress code in college try to dress appropriately. Now I am in no way saying you have to wear a cardigan and a turtleneck with some loose fitting jeans and boots to class everyday but if you do decide to wear that crop top one day or skirt that is a little too short try covering up yourself in other areas. Another rule of thumb if you wore it to a party/the club , then its probably not appropriate for school.
****Always remember you are in college for your education , not your fashion sense, so make sure that it is top priority.****
